BEAR DOG COUNTRY

[In the original PURSUIT posting on the matter, it was noted that the Waheela name was from the UP Michigan area. Recently more and similar stories have also been coming out of Wisconsin, and along with "Dogman" reports there are other reports of a "Wolf-Bear", much like a bear but for a wolf's tail and head, with longer pointed ears. Reports of this type come from as far afield as in Texas, but the association between the two Cryptids is uncertain, if indeed there is any]

As I have posted in the past, all unknown natural phenomena are local in nature. Here we have the hard evidence of a creature that rips of the head of a victim. There are several incidences and I also know of one other assigned wrongly to a Bigfoot encounter. Whatever it is, it is a unique carnivore that for some reason chooses not to consume the victim as far as I can tell.

Presume it also has a wide range and operates alone like a bear. Since it is never seen, it may also not hibernate and must be dispersed. It is still a carnivore and a very shy one.

The fact that it has been eyeballed does at least give us an excellent candidate. Otherwise, I do not think any but the suicidal will be trekking in the upper Nahanni and locales. Do not presume this creature is restricted to the Nahanni. It appears to prefer severe cold country though.

Headless Valley is a specific region (Lat: 61.25 Long: -124.5) of the South Nahanni River valley (Canada) said to encompass a lost world complete with tropical forests, murderously savage natives, and a myriad of mysterious creatures ranging from 'Bear Dogs' to Sasquatch. The legend of Headless Valley is unusual in that it is fairly modern, having originated in 1908, following the discovery of two decapitated miners in the region of the South Nahanni River. Since that time, several other disappearances and murders have been documented in the region.

In the "Nahanni National Park of Northwest Canada" lies the Nahanni River. The area is only accessible by boat or plane and is home to many natural wonders, such as sinkholes, geysers and a waterfallalmost double the size of Niagara Falls. "Lord Tweeds Muir (John Buchan)", author of "The 39 Steps" once said of the valley: "It's a fancy place that old-timers dream about.... Some said the "valley was full of gold and some said it was hot as hell owing to the warm springs.... It had a wicked name too, for at least a dozen folks went in and never came out'... Indians said it was the hom devils."

The 200 Mile gorge has become infamous, due to a number of gruesome deaths and many disappearances, earning itself the eerie name, The Valley of the Headless Men. Anomalies first began in 1908, when the Macleod Brothers came prospecting for gold in the valley. Nothing was heard or seen of the brothers for a whole year, until their decapitated bodies were found near a river. Nine years later, the Swiss prospector Martin Jorgenson was next to succumb to the Valley, when his headless corpse was found. In 1945, a miner from Ontario was found in his sleeping bag with his head cut from his shoulders. While skeptics of an unknown power at work in the Valley would put the grizzly mutilations down to feuding gold prospectors or hostile Indians, there are other strange happenings in the area which add to the valleys mysteriousness. The fiercely renowned Naha tribe simply vanished from the area a few years prior to the first deaths. Other Indians of the area have avoided the Valley for centuries, claiming an unknown evil haunts it. Many parts of the valley remain unexplored, and there are tales the Valley holds an entrance to the "Hollow Earth". Others believe the Valley is home to a lost world, with lush greenery and a tropical climate, due to the hot springs generating warm air, as well as untapped goldmines and wandering sasquatches. While a haven for Bigfoot remains unlikely, one thing is for certain, something strange lurks in the Nahanni Valley."

Bear-Dogs and Waheela

"Bear-dogs" were related to both the bear family and the dog family. They looked like hybrids between bears and dogs. There were once many different species in the family of bear-dogs, but then they began to die out. The most recent fossils we have from the New World date to about two million years ago, and in the old world the most recent are about ten thousand years old."

There is some evidence that the bear-dogs might have survived much longer than this in some remote areas. One species might even be alive today, if you can believe certain legends and sightings that have come from some remote, icy valleys on the border between Canada and Alaska. The "waheela" is the name of a gigantic wolf-like beast that has inhabited Indian legends from this area for a very long time. It is described as being like a wolf, but much larger and with a heavier build. It is attributed with supernatural powers, and it is said to be responsible for the many mysterious deaths that have occurred in Nahanni Valley, also known as "Headless Valley" because the people who died here mysteriously all had missing heads."

If the only thing we had to go on was these legends, we might be able to ignore the waheela, but there are also perfectly ordinary sightings made by ordinary Americans. A mechanic described this animal as looking like a wolf on steroids. He estimated its height at three and a half feet at the shoulder. The largest wolves ever recorded have been three feet, two inches tall at the shoulder, but giants of this size are truly rare. If the mechanic's estimate was correct, then this animal was at least four inches taller than the biggest wolf we know of. Other details differed from a true wolf. Its head was too broad for that of a wolf, and its build was too heavy, almost bear-like. It had pure white fur that was exceptionally long.

Other reports agree with the general description above, but add more detail. The waheela, despite the fact that it is larger than a wolf, has shorter legs than a wolf. The impressive shoulder height comes from its massive body instead of its legs. Its ears are smaller than a wolf's ears, and the tracks show toes set farther away from each other than in a wolf's tracks. The waheela are never found in packs, and they stay in the coldest, most inhospitable environments of the extreme north, favoring areas where there are few people.

"The area where the waheela is sighted is one of the most remote places in the world. The fact that these lands are relatively unexplored means that there is a fair chance of discovering new kinds of animal there, perhaps including one that was supposed to have died out ten thousand years ago. On the other hand, this might just be another one of those legend-laden locales that doesn't pan out when it is fully investigated. Local tribes also report that the Nahanni Valley is infested with evil spirits, and certain other legends attribute the headless corpses to big hairymonsters resembling the sasquatch. With bipedal hairy humanoids and monstrous wolves being sighted in the same area and blamed for the same violent deaths, it might also be that we havewerewolf beliefs being thrown into the mix as well, to make things even more confusing. - Newton, Michael - "Encyclopedia of Cryptozoology: A Global Guide to Hidden Animals and Their Pursuers" 2005 / 'The Cryptid Zoo' newanimal.org"As far as the "Headless" reports go, there is every reason to associate them with the local "Bigfoots" which are indeed more advanced than the commoner Sasquatyches to the south, more human-like, and otherwise spoken of as "Bad Indians" or "Bush Men". Loren Coleman refers to the ones in the Nahanni Valley as "Nuk-Luk" and calls them Neanderthals: among other things they carry tools (Stone tomahawks) and are reported to wear footgear (moccasins) occasionally. They also know the use of fire, and smoke is said to rise from their habitations in winter.

UFO SIGHTING IN SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA ON AUGUST 31ST 2013 - OBJECT ACENDS AROUND SUN DOWN VISIBLE FROM NORTH OF VENICE BEACH, SOUTH OF THE SANTA MONICA PEER

On August 31st 2013 just after the sunset Behind the Santa Monica Mountains a white contrail could be seen Ascending under high velocity at an extremely steep angle. Over 10 minutes or so Friends and i watched as the object continued to ascend under power and be came more and more over our points of view until the object leaving the contrail became a visible spec about a pencil leads width from the distance in which we were viewing the object. Then as the object reached the Terminator of Night and day in the sky, the object was no longer visible to the naked eye in the night sky, though I could still see the contrail visibly for a few more seconds. The object the disappeared. The Los Angeles Area has huge amounts of Air Traffic and so seeing air craft is as common as seeing a bird in most instances, what struck me as being odd about the object is that unlike every other aircraft in the field of view, both fixed wing and helicopters, this object had no Navigational lights or any other kind of standard aircraft outboard lighting. The objects appeared to me as if it had hit exit velocity and escape the Earths gravity, I did not here any tell tail sonic booms to indicate that this was the case, i may have been just to far away to here. The is a naval air station north OF LOS ANGELES county where it is possible the craft was lAUNCHED. If it is one of Uncle Sam's rides then hats off cause that thing was BADASS!

New England Ufo Conference Town Has Historical Ties To Major Cases

THE FIRST NEW ENGLAND UFO CONFERENCE WILL BE SET IN LEOMINSTER, MA, ON OCTOBER 26, 2013, ACCORDING TO ORGANIZER STEVE FIRMANI, WITH SOME VERY FAMOUS BACKGROUND TIES

The town is known as the birthplace of UFO abductee Betty Andreasson - from the Betty and Barney Hill case that took place in rural New Hampshire in September 1961. UFO SIGHTING IN FREWSBURG, NEW YORK ON JUNE 19TH 2013 - RED ORBS OVER TREES

The 19th of June 2013 at about 930 pm she was on the porch in our frewsburg ny home and she called me to see these low flying airplanes. We watched as a red orb, steady red light, slowly moved across the sky, about 200 feet above the tree line. Almost immediatley we saw more. All 6 of these were slow and solid red light, one would stop and another would almost catch up to it and it would begin again...., we watched as they almost turned left in the sky and headed towards jamestown ny. as we watched, the first four just blinked out, the 5th slowed and then sped up and blinked out. the last stopped dead in the sky and stayed there for several seconds and then follwed the rest and then went up at an angle and then blinked out. I had taken pictures of these and still everyone does not believe me. My wife and son also stood there watching them. The local news said they were probably chineese lanterns......education level there is a definate drop off. These red orbs did not hover, blink or make any sound at all. they were very methodical. Their was no breeze, wind or anything. when one went higher it just barely passed in front of the moon and you could just wsee the orb...nothing else. I did research on the internet and found another similar sighting in many states in 2011 as well as one in frewsburg ny, 2011....june 19th....odd dont you think. These were too low for satellites and were not chineese lanterns....really. We stood in awe as they passed one at a time....each at vaired distances from each other. I hope someone with a level mind can explain these. I feel very strong in what i saw. I took over a dozen pictures....

Ufo Saves Family From House Fire

When we look at stories of UFO sightings, generally the objects themselves and whatever unknown occupants within seem to appear mysteriously, interact in ways that may have only an indirect effect on their lives, and simply disappear with no real explanation. But in an incident reported recently to MUFON, a UFO appeared weeks in advance and again to save the entire family from a fire consuming their house.

An unidentified flying object was spotted floating over Hampstead Heath on Sunday (September 9) - but the UFO sighting will never be investigated.

An eyewitness spotted an orange ball of light floating over the open space, before disappearing only to reappear and multiply to six balls, according to the report posted under the name of Sheree Hall to UK UFO Sightings website.

The report said: "I was looking out of my window which is behind Hampstead Heath, and above in the sky was at first one ball of orange light! I was trying to work out if it was a plane, but it disappeared right before my eyes, then it reappeared but this time there were, about five or six orange balls of light that were moving in what looked an organized movement.

"Then I see an actual plane coming towards the light and it went right over the top of the light so the orange ball was not a plane because it would of crashed it was that close!

"Then a helicopter came and was hovering around the area of the lights as if it was watching the orange things. But they just kept moving in the sky and then they literally just vanished!

The balls appeared to move in unison for about 20 minutes, it was reported....
