REPORTS have been made of possible UFO sightings in the Sleaford area within the last few nights.

Hovering, flashing lights, have reportedly been seen from Heckington and from Sleaford.

Pete Willerton, from Heckington, said he has seen the lights from his home at around 10pm the last couple of nights.

He said: "It looks a bit like a chinese lantern but it flashes and changes colour from orange to red to white. It moves around slightly then just disappears.

"It was in the direction of Asgarby."

Pete said he moved to Heckington from Sleaford last year but used to see the same lights hovering around the Bass Maltings area when he lived there....

The Herbert Schirmer Ufo Humanoid Encounter

On December 3, 1967, around 2:30 a.m., in the vicinity of Ashland, Nebraska, police sergeant Herbert Schirmer, 22, noticed some red lights along Highway 63. Thinking that it was a stopped truck he approached and shown his high beams on it. Soon he realized it was no truck. Instead it was a disc-shaped object with a shiny, polished aluminum looking surface, and a catwalk that went around it. The red lights, which were blinking, were shining out from windows in the object. The UFO appeared to be a mere 6 to 8 feet above the road, and was hovering in the air with a slight tilt. Then the object began to slowly ascend, making a siren kind of noise, and issuing a flame-like display from the underside. Sticking his head out the window, Sgt. Schirmer watched the UFO pass nearly overhead. Then suddenly it shot up and out of sight.

Schirmer then got out of the police car and, with a flashlight in hand, inspected the surface of the road where the object had hovered so low to the ground. After this he drove to the police station and wrote in the log book, "Saw a flying saucer at the junction of highways 6 and 63. Believe it or not!" He was puzzled to notice that it was now 3 a.m., as the sighting seemingly lasted no more than ten minutes. As the morning wore on, Schirmer was to suffer a headache, a "weird buzzing" in his head, and would discover that he had a "red welt" on his neck. It was about two inches long and approx. half an inch wide, and was located on the "nerve cord" below one of his ears.

A few hours later, Chief Bill Wlaskin would visit the alleged encounter site and find a small metallic artifact. Chemical analysis revealed it was composed of iron and silicon. Investigators from the Condon project out of the University of Colorado speculated that it was probably "ordinary corroded earthly waste."

Later, under hypnosis, Schirmer would recall for investigators how humanoid beings, between 4 1/2 to 5 feet tall, escorted him from his car and into the ship, where the "leader" gave him a tour and explained various things about themselves and their mission on earth.

The entities had slightly slanted "catlike" eyes (that didn't blink), gray-white skin, long and thin heads, with flat noses and slitlike mouths. They wore silver-gray uniforms, gloves, and helmets (which had a small antenna on the left side around their ear), and at the left breast of each suit they had the emblem of a winged serpent. Schirmer had the impression that the small antennas were somehow a part of their communication process with him - that part of their contact with him was mental and part of it was physical.

A few years back, I discussed this case with noted UFO author Brad Steiger, who was involved in the initial hypnotic regression work with patrolman Schirmer. He recalled: "He was describing, 'Well I'm walking here, Well I'm walking there.' We asked him to make certain sketches and so forth, and then all of a sudden the control seemed to slip away instantly. I guess I shouldn't say slip away. It was an abrupt kind of thing, and he began to speak as though he were one of the occupants and said he would be, from time to time, returning in one way or another to keep tabs on Herb."

What did Brad make of this? "Either it's a case of extreme identification or some sign of hypnotic contact that we seem to uncover as we probe deeper and deeper into the unconscious," he replied.

Psychologist R. Leo Sprinkle of Wyoming, had also been involved in hypnotic regression work with patrolman Schirmer at the University of Colorado. He offered, "In a few cases (e.g., Herb Schirmer) the UFO witness claimed to experience 'mental communication' with UFO occupants at the moment of the interview. I have no way of knowing whether the claim is 'true' or whether the observer had been 'programmed' to experience such a feeling when hypnotic time regression procedures were followed; however, to the person, the experience was 'real.'"

So what did Dr. Sprinkle think? "I believe that each person is 'monitored' by spiritual guides, but in regard to the UFO contactee, the monitoring process seems to be unusually intense," he stated. "Perhaps someday, we will learn if the prophecies about "good" vs "evil" and predictions of earth changes....are related to this monitoring process."

UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECT - The Herbert Schirmer Case

Most scientists believe that it is inconceivable that homo sapiens is alone in the universe... the lord of creation. Attempts are now being made with space probes displaying clever universal symbols, to contact intelligent life in the light-year immensity of our galaxy. But what if our infantile hands, groping into the vastness of space, have already been superceded by visitors from space-time itself; by observers who reach us through the 'wormholes' that scientists believe, may provide corridors through space and time. Periodically we hear of people who claim contact with the crew of a UFO and the great global controversy of truth or fiction intensifies. Such a claim is made by former police chief Herb Schirmer, formerly of Nebraska, whose story was uncovered in a deep-trance hypnotic state by UCLA scientists. While in this state of altered consciousness, Schirmer made several drawings of the vehicle into which he was taken.

Whether you believe or not, his story is a fascinating one. Perhaps one day the governments of the world will tell us what they know... if they know.

"On the left side of his head was a small antenna. The skin on his face was of a grey color. His nose was long and flat and his mouth was narrow and slit like. His eyes looked like cat's eyes...

"Then he spoke, saying: Are you the watchman of this town? I said: Yes sir, I am. He spoke again, saying: Watchman, come with me."

So began the UFO experience of Herb Schirmer, now 30, who was a policeman, and later police chief, at the town of Ashland, Nebraska. The date: Dec. 2, 1967.

It was not a pleasant experience, especially after he wrote on his police log. "Saw a flying saucer at State Junction 6 and 63. Believe it or not."

Some townspeople hanged Schirmer in effigy as an expression that they didn't believe him. Tires were slashed and a windshield broken on his car.

"I would give somebody a traffic ticket and they would look at me and laugh, and tear up the ticket. What could I do?, said Schirmer in an interview at his home in Point Roberts.

He didn't last long as police chief, and quit. He has held other law enforcement jobs, including a job in a private security force in Oregon. When word reached his employers of his UFO experience, he was told to move on.

Despite ridicule, Schirmer has stuck with his story since 1967, and feels he is ready to begin telling it to the public.

"There might be a lot of people who have similar experiences who are afraid to admit it," he said.

The UFO encounter was brief in Schirmer's memory, but it was later found there was a 25-minute gap in his radio log. U.S. Air Force investigators in Boulder, Colorado, interviewed Schirmer and discovered he had no memory of events between the takf and landing of the UFO. He was later hypnotized, and the memory of the 25 minutes returned. He has since been hypnotized a number of times, mostly by a group of UFO scientists at the University of California at Los Angeles. It was under hypnosis that Schirmer drew scale diagrams of the interior of the space ship he saw, and the grey-skinned being who spoke with him.

With friends, he has attempted to duplicate the sounds the spacecraft made through the use of a sound synthesizer. And he is putting his memories on tape at an inexpensive homebuilt sound studio in Point Roberts.

In 1967 he was working the midnight shift in the small town and a little after midnight noticed a bull had broken loose from an auction barn. The patrolman got the bull back in the pen, and then checked on two gas stations nearby.

"I made a radio check with Wahoo Sheriff's office and informed them that all was secure," said Schirmer in a report he wrote after the hypnotic sessions. "The time was 2:20 a.m. I pulled on to State Highway 6 going west."

Then he saw the UFO, first as flashing red lights, then as a football-shaped object.

He tried to call the sheriff's office but his radio was dead. "The craft was moving over the highway north about 40 feet in the air. It seemed that some great force was pulling the patrol car up the embankment towards where the craft was beginning to land."

Schirmer saw a red-orange glow on the bottom of the craft, and saw a hatch open. "It was then that a shape of a man came out and walked over to the front of the patrol car. Then a second man came out of the craft and walked over to the car. The first man stood in front of the patrol car and, holding a small box-like object, pressed something. A green mist came out, spraying all over the patrol car. "The other man walked over to the driver's side of the patrol car and reaching inside, pressed a silver object against my neck, directly under my left ear. I felt a tingling sensation go through my whole body."

It was then that the grey-skinned man addressed Schirmer as "watchman of the town."

The grey-skinned man told Schirmer how the craft operated, showed him the power source and computers, and answered questions on the purpose of the craft's visit.

Among the answers: The craft landed to extract power from a nearby hydro transmission line. 'He said: Look watchman. And I saw a blue bolt of light. through a port hole. It was like a beam and it hit the transformer on a power pole approximately 200 feet from the craft. There was a bright flash of fire and the blue bolt came back to the craft.

"Then the man said that one of the reasons they landed was to extract electricity from power stations. He also said that they have been observing us for a long time."

One of the men also told the patrolman that spacecraft would visit him again twice in his lifetime. "If I were some kind of kook I would be saying that I had a visit last week, but it isn't true. I never saw anything again."

Under hypnosis, Schirmer has drawn detailed sketches of the power plant of the craft, which the spaceman said was based on "reversible electromagnetism."

He saw a room circled with cannister-shaped objects, with wires connecting them. In the middle of the room was an object, glowing red, like a spinning football.

Schirmer said he was conveyed, by a glass elevator, to another level of the craft and saw a TV-like screen which the spaceman manipulated. He showed Schirmer what his own solar system "in a galaxy next to yours," looked like, and saw pictures of the craft's mother ship on the screen.

By the screen, he said, was a map of a sun with six planets "with writing beside each planet. The language was one that I could not read."

Schirmer says he is not a church-goer, but looks to a Bible quote as a source of comfort that he is not going crazy. It's from Ezekiel, Chap. 1.

"And I looked, and, behold, a whirlwind came out of the north, a great cloud, and a fire enfolding itself, and a brightness was about it... out of the midst ther came the likeness of four living creatures. And this was their appearance; they had the likeness of a man."

Schirmer saw four men and talked to two of them, and hopes that others who have seen similar creatures will not be afraid to talk about them.

In early 1968, shortly after his UFO experience, Herb Schirmer was interviewed by members of the Condon Committee, a research project at the University of Colorado funded by the U.S. Air Force.

Among those who spoke with Schirmer was Dr. R. Leo Sprinkle, currently director of counselling and testing at the University of Wyoming.

Dr. Sprinkle told The Province that during the interviews Schirmer appeared "sincere and telling the truth as he saw it."

"He was aware of a loss-of-time experience (the missing 25 minutes in his radio log) and said he sensed someone coming toward him. At that time he didn't have any memory of being taken aboard."

Later, Schirmer was put under hypnosis to delve into the missing 25 minutes. Dr. Ron Katz, of the University of California (Los Angeles) department of anesthesiology, told The Province that Schirmer had submitted to a number of hypnotic trances and drew sketches of what he saw while in a trance. The drawings were made in 1974.

Dr. Katz said that although he could confirm the trance sessions took place he could not speak about them because it was a doctor-patient relationship.

Generally, he said, subjects under hypnosis do not attempt to fabricate stories. The one exception, said Dr. Katz, might occur if a subject had been previously hypnotized to "remember" a series of events under subsequent trances.

Schirmer said that he believes he was put in some sort of trance, perhaps with the aid of the silver object placed beside his neck.

Gorebridge Alien Experiment

Scotland and the UK have for some time been accredited with being on the world's busiest UFO hotspots with attention in Scotland being focused initially on Bonnybridge and the Falkirk triangle. However, more recently, from about 2000, it has become apparent that the small town of Gorebridge - an ex coal mining town about 15 miles south of Edinburgh, Scotland's capital city, has had more than its fairshare of close encounters and abductions.On checking the local news and gossip - there have been reported and unreported close encounters in the Gorebridge area for decades.

Geographically and historically, Gorebridge is situated adjacent toRosslyn Castle and Chapel which lie a few miles to the west. In Rosslyn glen by the river there is a bronze age carving in stone ofa reptilian head and, folklore referring to a tunnel and cavern system. To the east lies the cavern systems of Cousland and a place called`Goblin Halls' as well as numerous other references to this reality in village names. e.g. Elphinstone.

Gorebridge, then, a typical post-industrial mining community with abandoned mines and workings has a past intimately tied in to Celtic mythological traditions.It has been noted for a few years now that Blinkbonny mine, an abandoned coal mine at Gorebridge, has been a centre for nocturnal activity with lights descending from the sky, and curious strangers there who move the locals on.

Two individuals were chased from that locality one year whilst diggingup some fir trees for Christmas by a luminous, floating,`green eye'.

Access to that locality has become more controlled over the last few years with some of the other entrances to the mine at other localities becoming filled in by contractors. It has more recently become a Bikers locality for non-locals.

In other localities in and around Gorebridge strange things have been reported such as parked `silver domes' in the local fields, black triangles flying low overhead, people being pursued by strange glowing intelligent lights, sightings of Greys and Men in Black in the local woods and abductees who share the same year and dates of birth.

Also there is the story of Jackie Gillies a contactee from Gorebridge who has filmed numerous alien craft at close quarters. These images are featured at http://www.LSUFOS.com. In 2002, John, or Jackie as he prefers to be called went out at night to his doorstep because he had the `feeling' that he would film something. Sure enough he films a square shaped and peculiar UFO flying low across his rooftop. Managing also to get the ship at various stages of its approach. The next morning Jackie hears the thunder of a helicopter at rooftop height overhead and goes out with his camera to see a dark helicopter eyeballing him at his doorstep with its cameras trained on him. Jackie then filmed them filming him. Thinking it bizarre, he contacted a then prominent UFO group in Scotland with his story and his footage but their investigation though revealing that the helicopter was from a company called PDG helicopters, dismissed their activity as normal and routine.Certainly its all routine for the security services to survey citizens on their doorstep. All of Jackies footage has been dismissed by this group as `rubbish'. However, when he eventually started investigating the suspicious helicopter, there the morning after a close encounter, and when he examined the images of the pilot he was in for a shock - for he had a clear image of a Grey working for the UK establishment. PDG helicopters have declined to identify the pilot and any use of`strange headgear' etc. and they remain silent about their presence on his doorstep.

The UFO group who initially investigated Jackies claim of harassment and who had dismissed the incident as routine had failed to note that the helicopter was flying at 150 feet and that 500 feet is the legal ceiling for such activity.There are also some of Jackies neighbours who were alarmed by this low flying machine.

Further scrutiny of this clear helicopter footage and survey of the locality by an RAF flight sergeant from Leuchars airbase who is also a bomb disposal expert and Iraq combat veteran reveals a fairly exact confirmation of the height at about 150 feet and that the camera in use to film Jackie and his house was no ordinary routine camera.The camera in use by the very strange surveillance team was a radiation source seeking camera which can see through walls. The camera operator is a Grey with a heart shaped head a head much like the Faerie head from the 13th century carved in stone in St Giles cathedral Edinburgh. This is also the Speilberg `ET' from the film of the same name -perhaps checking if Jackie was following advice to `be good' and whether or not he had recently acquired any exotic technology from the previous night's encounter with which to `phone home'.

The ramifications of Jackies Grey chopper pilot are staggering - for when `alien Tony' as he has been dubbed flies back to the airport -how is he facilitated. What are his catering and restroom arrangements.Working as an alien technological consultant for the UK black ops - he assists in the `routine surveillance' of UK abductees and contactees. Does he drive back to Elphinstone or Goblin Halls at night after he clocks off.

Jackies photo of `alien Tony' represents the first clear public domain evidence that the Ministry of Defence is clearly working hand in glove with extraterrestrials and that these ETs are helping them with their field work. Indeed this disclosure makes the recent MoD Condign Report facile and ridiculous. One of its points of laughter was a sub-report entitled`Elves, Sprites and Blue Jets'.Its certain from this evidence that the government are intent on policing their monopoly on exotic technology and all the benefits to be had therefrom.

The authorities only becoming involved overtly if there is a `risk' that Joe Public could be receiving technological gifts of strange things. Close monitoring of the contactee public is done with the use of conventional and unconventional technology and personnel.

A more recent overfly of Gorebridge by a PDG helicopter was reported in late May 2006. In chatting to a local gamekeeper it was revealed that he did not go to a certain hill a few miles south of Gorebridge because it always had a low level light over it at night. The gamekeeper related that the light was under the level of the low cumulus clouds.

Indeed from two independent sources it was confirmed that a field onLeadburn road a few miles to the west had alien and or military technology in it.A local gypsy called Muriel told me that `someone' a while back had left a probe in that field and that if you stood at a certain place it would drift over to where you stood to check you out. This was also checked out by Garry Woods another prominent Scottishabductee and investigator.

More recently it has come to light that two friends and hillwalkers had been in that area and one had said to the other to watch the trees at the top of a hill whilst walking up to a certain point in the field. The hillwalker had encountered the Harrier before many times noting that it rose up if he walked forward and then sunk down if he walked back at a spot in the field. The weird Harrier is in the exact locality identified by the local gypsy as that which contained the `alien probe'.

There are though, many other mining towns in the Scottish region of the Lothians, comprising of West Lothian, Midlothian and East Lothian e.g.Blackridge in West Lothian [closer to Bonnybridge] that have noted ET activity and abductions from craft and beings operating in and around old coal mines.It may be though, that old mines could be utilised in times of national emergency for various reasons and are currently being made secure for that purpose. There does seem to be sightings of dark helicopters associated with these places - as a recent correspondent from West Lothian confirms.

With so many contactees in Gorebridge itself and many more people who have witnessed strange encounters and happenings - it was with interest that I note that an abductee who had parents born in Gorebridge on the same day within 5 minutes of each other and who had then moved to Edinburgh was also being followed up in later life by ongoing ET contact.

There is clearly something alien going on at Gorebridge and that when you open your back door and find yourself being confronted by a helicopter cockpit and one of the occupants in plain view is an alien or even a spook wearing a strange mask - then you know that maybe the authorities know something about it too.

Lunar Impacts Created Seas Of Molten Rock

A new analysis of data from NASA's Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) shows that molten rock may have been present on the Moon more recently and for longer periods than previously thought. Differentiation -- a settling out of rock layers as liquid rock cools -- would require thousands of years and a fluid rock sea at least six miles deep.

Early in the Moon's history an ocean of molten rock covered its entire surface. As that lunar magma ocean cooled over millions of years, it differentiated to form the Moon's crust and mantle. But according to a new analysis by planetary scientists from Brown University, this wasn't the last time the Moon's surface was melted on a massive scale.

The research, led by graduate student William Vaughan, shows that the impact event that formed the Orientale basin on the Moon's western edge and far side produced a sea of melted rock 220 miles across and at least six miles deep. Similar seas of impact melt were probably present at various times in at least 30 other large impact basins on the Moon.

Vaughan and his colleagues show that as these melt seas cooled, they differentiated in a way that was similar to the lunar magma ocean. As a result, rocks formed in melt seas could be mistaken for "pristine" rocks formed very early in the Moon's history, the researchers say.

"This work adds the concept of impact melt magma seas to the lexicon of lunar rock-forming processes," said planetary geologist James W. Head III, the Scherck Distinguished Professor of Geological Sciences and the senior researcher involved in the study. "It emphasizes that one must consider the detailed point of origin of the rocks in order to interpret them correctly."

That includes rocks brought back during the Apollo program and Russia's Luna missions. It's quite possible, the researchers say, that impact melt material is present in lunar samples thought to be representative of the early formation of the lunar crust. The amount of rock formed in melt seas is far from trivial. Vaughan and his colleagues estimate that impacts forming the Moon's 30 large basins produced 100 million cubic kilometers of melt, enough to make up 5 percent of the Moon's crust.

If lunar samples do include melt material, it would help to explain some puzzling findings from lunar samples. For example, in 2011 an analysis of a sample assumed to have originated in the early lunar crust suggested that the sample was 200 million years younger than the estimated time when the lunar magma ocean solidified. That led some researchers to conclude either that the Moon is younger than previously estimated or that the lunar magma ocean theory was flawed. But if that sample actually originated from a melt sea, its young age could be explained without rewriting the history of the Moon.

THE MELT SEA AT ORIENTALE

The Orientale basin is only partly visible from Earth on the western edge of the Moon's near side. Because it's one of the few basins on the Moon that hasn't filled in with volcanic basalt, it provides a great place to investigate the geology of melt seas and to test whether they differentiate as they cool.

For the Orientale melt sea to have differentiated, it must have been liquid for a long time -- thousands of years. To be liquid that long, it must have been quite thick. That left the researchers with a question that wasn't easy to answer: How thick was the Orientale melt?

"In pictures, you're just seeing the top of an impact melt body, so we have to find a way to infer how thick it was," Vaughan said.

To do that, Vaughan and his colleagues took advantage of the fact that a liquid shrinks when it cools and solidifies. Data from the Lunar Orbiter Laser Altimeter (LOLA) showed that the sheet had subsided by about two kilometers from the surrounding rock, giving the researchers an idea of how much the sea shrank. With that data, they could calculate its volume and infer its depth.

According to the calculations, the Orientale melt sea must have been at least 10 kilometers thick. Far shallower melt sheets from impacts on Earth are known to have differentiated, so it's a safe bet that Orientale was thick enough to differentiate.

The next question was what that differentiation might look like. Based on the compositions of the lunar crust and mantle material melted, Vaughan could determine the composition of the impact melt sea. From there, he could make a model of what rocks would have formed as the melt sea cooled. According to the model, thick layers of rocks like dunite and pyroxenite form at the base of the melt sea from dense, early crystallizing minerals that sink through the melt. Other minerals float up through the melt to form layers of rocks such as norite at the top of the melt sea -- very similar to differentiation processes in the lunar magma ocean.

Vaughan's model is supported by remote sensing data from the Maunder crater, the remnant of an impact that excavated material from the melt sheet after it cooled. The data confirm a noritic composition at least four kilometers deep in the melt sheet.

Taken together, the findings suggest that impact melt seas produce rock in a way that's very similar to the lunar magma ocean. And that could help to clear up some lingering questions about the magma ocean paradigm.

"This is a mechanism by which the Moon was later modified to add petrologic complexity," Vaughan said. "It helps make sense of mineralogical data that doesn't always fit in this lunar magma ocean idea."

The research is published in the April issue of the journal Icarus.

I was working in the help factory installing wall motions lights at my leave shortly after unhappy. As I glanced up to the sky, I had noticed a square box as boundless as a SUV.On both theme it had a dazzling light shinning precisely down and a red light in the center was blinking.It was magnificent in a precisely line.It was magnificent too cursorily to be a blimp and too extended to be an aircraft. I heard no decibels yet to come from it. I ran across my backyard perpetuation my eye courteous on it as it continued to move EAST until I lost sight of it. A long time ago it was out from my sight, I tried to discharge as to what it was that I had legal seen, but coherently I may well not snitch what it may well support been. But I am sure I relate what it was not.Repeated time I quay of the possiblity of UFOs I was too embaraced to helping my bite in the midst of co-workers.
