There is a growing trend in Ufology that the many, many UFO Cult groups, a lot of them spawning on Facebook, put the actual 'investigation' part of their activities in the background.They do this in preference to holding 'UFO club' meetings, writing for their club journals and holding public meetings hoping to convert new easily led non-thinkers to their groups. They tend to have absolutely nom idea on how to conduct or report their findings and most have absolutely zero knowledge or experience in the scientific method of fact gathering and dissemination. Recently I've had the misfortune to tackle one such Facebook group.... all it uncovered were many more like it, world-wide!
This story is an a example of how groups/individuals like this immediately jump to erroneous conclusions after conducting the briefest of investigations and post those reports online where they get picked up buy others, archived and become 'classic' cases of Uology. Groups like this should be summarily disbanded, or at the very least undergo some sort of basic training because they add nothing to true research.
