Is it possible that the U.S. government encouraged that line of thinking - in order to keep the public from demanding serious answers about UFO sightings? Author and professional speaker Richard Thieme will answer that question and more when he presents a free, public program at the Beloit Public Library on Tuesday, Nov. 12, at 7 p.m. Thieme is one of a team of researchers who wrote the book, "UFOs and Government: A Historical Inquiry." It describes how the military and intelligence communities responded from World War II to the present to credible reports of UFO sightings. Previously, Thieme was an English literature instructor and an Episcopal priest. He holds two master's degrees and travels to speaking engagements all over the world, focusing on the deeper implications of technology, security and intelligence.
